Slides, photos or typed notes.
Your assistant picks out the terms, keeps the definitions from your notes and skips the ones already in your deck.
Lecture 4 · Cell transport
- Diffusion: particles move from high to low concentration.
- Osmosis: water crosses a membrane toward more dissolved substance.
- Active transport moves substances against the gradient.
- It needs energy from ATP.

How it works
Connect your AI assistant
Add Lymi to Claude, Grok or another assistant. It takes three steps. No assistant? Start another way.
Send your notes
Attach the PDF or the photo, or paste the text, in a chat with your assistant.
Ask for cards
For example: “Add the key terms from this lecture to my Biology deck in Lymi, with the definitions from the notes.” Ask for one section at a time when the file is long.
Check the cards in Lymi
The new cards are in your deck, and terms you already have are skipped. Fix or archive any card.
Review a few minutes a day
Open Today on your phone or laptop. Lymi schedules each card with spaced repetition, so you review less and remember longer.
No assistant?
Smart add is in beta and reads up to 5 lessons a day. A diagram can go on a card as its picture.
Send a whole lecture at once.
Your assistant reads the file, picks out the terms and adds them in one go. Later it can tell you which ones you keep missing.
Test yourself, then check.
Try to recall the definition before Lymi shows it, then grade how well you remembered. Hard cards return sooner; easy ones wait.
Biology
diffusion
Reveal the meaning, then grade the recall.
Review less, remember longer.
Remember a card, and Lymi waits longer before showing it again. Forget it, and it comes back soon.
- Reviewed with Lymi
- Learned once, never revisited
Recall
Recalling beats rereading
Lymi asks before it shows the answer. Trying to remember something makes it stick better than reading it again, as Roediger and Karpicke found in 2006.
Spacing
Longer gaps, longer memory
Spreading reviews out helps you remember for longer. In 2013, Dunlosky and colleagues rated testing yourself and spacing out practice as highly effective.
Questions before you start.
- Can I upload a PDF to Lymi directly?
Yes, with Smart add. Add up to 3 PDFs or 10 photos, or paste the text, and tick the terms you want. It’s in beta, so it reads up to 5 lessons a day.
- Who can see the cards I make?
Only you, unless you share the deck. Cards made from your notes stay in your account.
- Which assistants can add cards?
Claude, Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor and Grok can add cards. ChatGPT connects in developer mode, and OpenAI lets it add cards only on Business, Enterprise and Education plans.
Connecting an assistant- Does the AI write my cards?
Lymi’s AI fills in what you leave empty, like a meaning or an example, and marks each field it wrote as AI. Text your assistant writes on a card counts as yours, so check it.
- Can I review offline?
Yes. Open Lymi once while you’re online, and after that you can review without a connection. Your answers are sent when you’re back online.
- Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Lymi runs in the browser on your phone and your computer, and you can add it to your home screen. Your cards and progress are the same on both.
- What does it cost?
Nothing. Lymi is free to use.
